Audition info!!

    Auditions will be hosted on May 3rd at Tiger Rock Martial Arts in Evans, GA, with the first singing slot at 1 PM. You must choose a musical theater song cut to perform (up to three minutes) that best displays your singing and acting talents.

    There will also be dance auditions (required for all performers) beginning at 6:30 PM. A teaching video will be sent out before auditions. You must prepare before coming in. Starting at 6:30, we will review the combo as a group and then break into smaller groups to perform for judging. We will have forms available on the website soon to bring to the auditions with you. There will likely be callbacks during the same timeframe on May 10th.

    Hopefully, we will be doing Honeymoon in Vegas or Tuck Everlasting as long as we have the right people for either show. I will not decide on what show we are doing until after auditions to ensure that the casting is as fit to the material as possible.

The Boxcar Players’ goal is to encourage art and community in theater by removing high-budget, high-stakes production aspects from the picture and making good art with good people. The group is open to all performers and technicians aged up to 21 at any skill level. We hope to encourage a wider range of theatrical skills than those gained from opportunities in a school setting and eventually promote opportunities for young people to learn production and technical techniques through our 4-6 week-long black-box musicals. Our motto is “youth leading youth”, and we hope that our program can create a LONG-RUNNING community for young Augusta creatives. Thank you for your continued interest and support.
